KOCHI: The crime branch is likely to record the statement of former DGP R Sreelekha, who accused the police of fabricating evidence against Dileep in the actor assault case. They have sought the permission of top officials for this.

The legal advice obtained in the matter has been conveyed to the top officials. The officials have been informed that if the investigation proceeds without taking Sreelekha's statement, the defendant will raise this matter in the further hearing and in this situation her statements should be examined and clarified.

Sreelekha alleged on her YouTube channel that the evidence against Dileep was fabricated. There is no evidence against Dileep, the police fabricated evidences. The picture of Dileep and Pulsar Suni was photo shopped and that a phone was handed over to Suni by a policeman in jail. Sreelekha came forward with the allegation at the crucial stage of the case. There are reports that the prosecution and the police will be taking contempt of court action.

Meantime, the trial court will consider today Dileep’s contempt plea against investigating officer Baiju Paulose. The complaint is that Baiju Paulose handed over court information to the media.
