BAREILLY: In a shocking incident, a four-month-old boy was thrown off the roof of three-storey building by a monkey. The incident took place in Dunka village in UP’s Bareilly, on Friday evening.
According to reports, Nirdesh Upadhyay and his wife were walking on the terrace of their three-storey house with their four-month-old son. Suddenly, a herd of monkeys came on the roof and surrounded them. The couple tried to drive away the monkeys. However, when Nirdesh tried to run towards the stairs, the baby fell down from his hands. Before he could hold the child, a monkey grabbed the newborn and threw him off the roof. The baby, who fell down, died on the spot.
The incident has been reported and a team of forest department has been sent to conduct an investigation, said Bareilly Chief Conservator of Forests Lalit Verma.
