Airline companies to hike ticket fare taking advantage of surge in passengers

kk

MALAPPURAM: Taking advantage of the surge in Gulf passengers from August 20 to the first week of September, airlines are set to charge high prices for tickets. Air India Express ticket price from Kerala to Dubai this week is Rs 18,000. Usually it costs within Rs 10,000. Towards the end of August Rs 35,000 should be paid as fare. Ticket rates on foreign airlines is above Rs 40,000. The situation is similar in other Gulf countries. Big travel agencies are booking tickets en masse and reselling them. Connecting flights are also overcrowded due to lack of seats.

Many expats are worried about the ticket fare and are in a situation to lend money for the return journey.
