THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: District Collectors have announced a holiday for educational institutions in two districts tomorrow in the wake of the announcement that rain will continue in the state till Tuesday. A partial holiday has also been declared in Pathanamthitta. Pathanamthitta District Collector Dr Divya S Iyer announced a holiday tomorrow for the educational institutions working as relief camps in the district.

The Indian Meteorological Department had earlier stated that rains will continue in Kerala for the coming days due to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over the Andhra coast in the Midwest Bay of Bengal. It also stated that Kerala is likely to receive widespread rain and isolated heavy rain from August 6th to 9th as there is a possibility of a low pressure forming in the northwest Bay of Bengal by August 7.
