THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fishing has been banned in Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts from August 8 to 10 and in Karnataka coasts from August 8 to 11. The ban was imposed after the Indian Meteorological Department warned that strong wind with speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely to prevail over Kerala and Karnataka coasts and the Lakshadweep area.
Strong winds and bad weather are expected today and tomorrow along the Kanyakumari coast, the Tamil Nadu coast adjacent to the Gulf of Mannar, and the Sri Lankan coast adjacent to the southwest Bay of Bengal. The IMD also informed that isolated places in all districts of Kerala are likely to receive rainfall in the next three hours.
