Stepfather arrested for brutally beating four-year-old boy

THRISSUR: The Kunnamkulam police have arrested the stepfather of a four-year-old boy for brutally beating up the boy. The arrested has been identified as Triprayar native Prasad alias Naufal (29). The child has been admitted to Mulagunnathukavu Govt Medical College Hospital. The doctors said that the boy is out of danger.

According to police, Naufal beat up the boy by alleging that he was not allowing him to sleep. The police said that the boy was hit on the head, eyes and face using a wooden log. They also said that the boy suffered injuries on his genitals.

Following the complaint of the mother and her family, Child Welfare Committee chairperson Nimmy Benoy visited the child and directed the Kunnamkulam police to file a case. The child's mother is a native of Palakkad.

The child was shifted to the medical college for expert treatment. The doctors said that the child has injury marks all over his body. He is being treated in the pediatric surgery department.
