India’s 1st indigenously developed ‘Cervical Vaccine’ to be launched soon | VIDEO

Cancer is one of the horrifying terms in our life. Why because we often don’t realise when it devours our life.We have witnessed many people breathing their last even before the stage of diagnosis. Coming to one of the common type of cancer diagnosed in women is the cervical cancer. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all women are at risk for cervical cancer. It occurs most often in women over age 30. Despite being largely preventable, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women globally, according to the WHO.

In 2018, an estimated 570,00 women were diagnosed with the disease and it accounted for 311,000 deaths across the world.Long-lasting infection with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main cause of cervical cancer. When cervical cancer is found early, it is highly treatable and associated with long survival and good quality of life. Health sector of India is well flourishing and trying to discover best medicines for every disease. And one such happy news on cervical cancer is much discussed.

Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh on Thursday (September 1), announced the scientific completion of Cervavac, India’s first indigenously developed quadrivalent human papillomavirus (qHPV) vaccine for the prevention of cervical cancer.
