Strict action taken against employees who threw food in garbage. In Chala Circle, the Onam sadya prepared for the employees in connection with the Onam celebration was thrown into the garbage by a section of employees as a protest. I strongly condemn and reject such extremely degrading treatment of food. In a democratic system, strikes and protests are allowed and are necessary. But any strike or protest by throwing food in the garbage can only be seen as a challenge to public and to the common people around the world who are suffering without food or even a drop of drinking water. If those employees had remembered the faces of such people, then they would have definitely refused to do this cruel and despicable act. The employees who have behaved liked this without humanity cannot be allowed to continue as a part of the Corporation under any circumstances.
11 people were involved in this act. Seven of them are permanent employees. It has been ordered to be suspend them immediately. The remaining four are temporary employees and it has been decided to terminate them. Each grain of rice contains not only the expectation of a hungry man, but also the labour of the people who made it. No one should forget that.
