THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC has launched a smart travel card which can be recharged and used by passengers. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the travel card with RFID technology security by handing it over to Minister Antony Raju.

The smart travel card will be implemented first in city circular buses in Thiruvananthapuram district. Later the cards will be made available on city shuttle and city radial services and then on all buses in the state. The card is available through conductors, KSRTC depots and authorized agents. In the next phase, KSRTC will find agents to distribute the cards. Lottery agents and direct selling agents can take agency by paying a fixed amount as a deposit.
