THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain is likely to lash the state today. Red alert has been issued in Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. Districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam are on orange alert.
The Central Meteorological Department said there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in all districts of Kerala in the next three hours. There is a chance of landslides and flashfloods in hilly areas. So night travelling to hilly areas is prohibited.
Fishermen should not venture into the sea as strong winds are likely to blow. Low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next few days. The Meteorological Center has warned that heavy rain will continue in the coming days. Orange alert has been issued in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod.
