Palliyodam set to participate in Aranmula boat race overturns, two people dead

ALAPPUZHA: Two people, including a plus two student, who went missing after a palliyodam overturned in the Achankovil river due to strong current, have died.

The palliyodam of Chennithala which had been floated to participate in the Aranmula Uthratathi boat race, overturned. The deceased have been identified as Adithyan (17) and Cherukol native Vineesh (35) Adithyan is a plus two student.

The accident happened at Valiya Perumpuzha jetty. The fire force team and the scuba team reached the spot and conducted a search. There is a suspicion that a person named Rakesh is also missing, but there is no clarity in this regard.
