KASARGOD: A CPM local leader was arrested for sexually abusing a plus two student. The Chandera police arrested T T Balachandran, branch secretary of Echikovval and school PTA president. He was hiding in many places including Ernakulam and was caught from Annoor in Kasaragod.
He misbehaved with the girl during the Onam celebrations programme held in the school.
In her complaint, she said that during the dance practice, he spoke with sexual intent and touched her body parts. He was absconding soon after a case was registered.
The Youth Congress held a march at the police station the other day accusing the police of colluding without arresting him. He was arrested shortly after that. It is reported that he has been removed from the party posts.
