Sanju Samson named as captain of India A squad for New Zealand series

MUMBAI: Keralite Sanju Samson has been selected as captain of Team India's A squad ahead of upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. The BCCI has announced the members of Team India A squad on today. Young players like Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi, Kuldeep Yadav and Umran Malik have also been included in the 16-member squad.

All three matches of the series will be played at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The first match is on September 22. The second ODI will be played on the 25th and the third match on the 27th. Fans harshly criticized the BCCI for not including Sanju in the squad for the Twenty20 World Cup. Sanju Samson is the captain of Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
