THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George on Saturday said that 9 hospitals in the state have received the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certification from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for upholding high standards of quality at the institution. 7 hospitals have been re-accredited and two hospitals have received new NQAS accreditation.
Thiruvananthapuram FHC Kotukal secured 92 per cent score and Malappuram FHC Ozhur secured 98 per cent score. With this, 148 hospitals in the state have received NQAS accreditation. The minister said that 5 district hospitals, 4 taluk hospitals, 8 community health centres, 38 urban primary health centres and 93 family health centres have been accredited by NQAS.
