KOZHIKODE: BJP state president K Surendran said that the Popular Front is trying to deal with terrorist cases using their might and demanded the government to take strict action against the unnecessary hartal announced by them. 'The government should provide security for people's life and property. The leaders of Popular Front should remember that India is not a religious country but a democratic country. All previous hartals by the Front ended in riots', said Surendran.
'Precautionary measures must be taken against the hartal announced by those who conducted a WhatsApp hartal earlier and attacked the institutions and places of worship of a community. The Home Department should be prepared to prevent the move of religious extremists to create division in the society. In the country, the religious terrorists are given the oppurtunity to break loose only in Kerala', said Surendran. He added that although the High court has taken strong stand against unnecessary hartals, the state government is having a soft approach towards the Popular Front because of the interest in the vote bank.
