Sreenath Bhasi to face the heat of Producers’ Association; don’t need drug addicts in movies, actor to be banned temporarily

KOCHI: Actor Sreenath Bhasi will face disciplinary action from the Producers’ Association for using swear words against an anchor of a Youtube channel. The producer’s group said that the actor will be banned from their movies temporarily. They stressed that an actor must be a good role model to society.

The president of Producers' Association, Renjith, said that Sreenath Bhasi has accepted his mistakes. However, the Association needs to take disciplinary action against the actor. Renjith added that the actor can complete the movies that he is currently doing.

In a stern warning, the Producers' Association, said that they were not interested in casting actors who were drug addicts. And added that they would go to any length to wipe this menace from the industry.

The Association also demanded that police must check the shooting locations for drugs. They were all in favor of such actions on the part of the police.

Meanwhile, the police are planning to check if Sreenath Bhasi used drugs during the interview when he abused the anchor. For this, the police collected samples of the actor’s hair, nail, and blood.

However, there is no mention that Sreenath Bhasi was under the influence of drugs in the complaint filed by the anchor of the YouTube channel. The complaint only mentions that during the promotion of his movie ‘Chatambi’, the actor behaved badly and threatened her.

The police had summoned Bhasi for questioning. After reaching the station, Bhasi, was arrested and let off under station bail.

He was slapped with a case under IPC sections 509, 354, and 284b. The police also gathered visuals of the interview, in which Bhasi is abusing the anchor, from the hotel where the interview took place.
