Govt declares holiday for educational institutions on Oct 3

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A holiday has been declared for all educational institutions including professional colleges in the state on October 3. The holiday is given as part of Navaratri. The office also clarified that the respective institutions can decide on working some other day. The decision regarding this was taken in today’s cabinet meet.

With the declaration of Navaratri holiday, there are three holidays next week. Mahanavmi falls on Tuesday and Vijayadashami on Wednesday.

Other cabinet decisions

An additional post of one assistant geologist in each district in the department of mining and geology will be created.

The service period of Dr Santhosh Babu, managing director of Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited, has been extended. The rank and scale of principal secretary has been extended on reappointment basis for a period of two years with effect from 11.10.2022. Has also given additional charge of managing director, Kerala Fibre Optic Network Limited and Chief Mission Director/Executive Director, Information Kerala Mission.

It has been decided to create two assistant professor posts as supernumerary in the department of ayurvedic medical education.

The order issued by the Digital University Vice-Chancellor to approve and sign the four Memorandums of Understanding proposed to be entered into by the Kerala Digital University with the Universities of Oxford, Manchester, Saigon and Edinburgh has been validated.
