Assistant director and actor Deepu Balakrishnan drowns in temple pond

THRISSUR: Assistant director and actor Deepu Balakrishnan drowned in a temple pond. The accident happened while taking a bath in the pond of Koodalmanikyam Temple. He was 41.

Deepu left home around 5 am to bathe in the temple pond. In a search after he did not return for a long time, his shoes and clothes were found from the premises of the pond. The fire force reached the spot and in a search found the body. Iringalakuda police reached the spot and took further steps. He had worked as an assistant director in the film Urumbukal Urangarilla. He also had a role in the film. He was also the associate director of films 'Once in Mind' and 'Premasoothram'.
