Patient dies in medical college after given wrong injection, nurse gave injection while talking on phone

KOZHIKODE: A 45-year-old woman died after being administered the wrong injection for fever at Kozhikode Medical College. The dead has been identified as Sindhu of Koodaranji. Her relatives said the nurse injected the wrong medicine to the woman who came with complaints of fever.

Sindhu came to the hospital yesterday. After initial treatment, she was shifted to the ward. Her relatives alleged that she died after a wrong medicine was injected. The medicine given yesterday was not given today. It was a mistake from the side of the nurse. The patient was in normal condition before the injection was given. Her family said she collapsed soon after the injection was given.

The nurse administered the injection while talking on the phone. She collapsed within seconds. Her relatives said the colour of the body changed and foam came from her mouth. The medical college police have registered a case in the incident.
