THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Responding to allegations over a controversial letter, Mayor Arya Rajendran said that she did not directly or indirectly prepare a letter as circulated in the social media and news. "CPM does not have a practice of issuing such a letter for appointments. The letter is not directly or indirectly signed by me. A complaint was filed with the CM because I wanted to find out whether someone prepared it deliberately or fakely with the help of an app or something else", Arya Rajendran said.

"I want to know if the letterhead on the letter pad I saw is fake. It is unclear. In the complaint to the Chief Minister, I have asked for a probe to find out on what basis such a letter was formed. The letter came out on November 1 and long before this, the newspaper advertisement for these posts came out. I don't doubt the office staff in the letter issue. After the controversy, the employment exchange was asked to make appointments for transparency. There have been various accusations and campaigns ever since I took over as mayor and I don't care about that", the Mayor said.

Arya Rajendran said that she lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister, who is in charge of the Home Department, as the letter controversy is a very serious issue. The mayor added that as a member of the party area committee, she informed the party about necessary matters.
