15 Indian sailors handed over to Nigeria, Malayali sailor says they will face anything that happens in Nigeria

NEW DELHI: Fifteen crew members of the Heroic Idun ship, who are imprisoned in Equatorial Guinea, have been handed over to Nigeria. The Malayalis who were detained from the ship the other day were transferred to a Nigerian warship. The Nigerian ship arrived at Luba port last night.


Sanu Jose, the chief officer of the ship, said that fifteen people were on board the Nigerian Navy ship. He further added that they will go to Nigeria and face anything that happens and that he does not know when the Indian Embassy officials will arrive.

The 26 crew members of the ship were divided into two groups by the Guinean forces last Monday night. 11 people are still on board the ship. Uncertainty about them continues. The Guinean army has stopped the Nigerian Navy from boarding the Heroic Idun ship. The Guinean army gave instructed them to board the ship after the Indian embassy officials arrive at the place.
