This is not the way to oppose

governor

The huge banner that appeared at the entrance of the famous Sanskrit college in the capital city on Wednesday morning is an example of the moral decay of our children who need to be enlightened by knowledge. The banner insulting the chancellor of the universities was later removed based on Raj Bhavan's complaint, but the stench it gave off will not go away anytime soon. It is surprising that this banner appeared in the name of a students’ body, which has the largest number of students in the state, did not create any movement among those who prepared it or those who were inspired by it.

Minister of Higher Education passed through this to attend a function at the Sanskrit College. They might not have noticed the banner hung to insult the governor. However, the children studying there and the teachers teaching them may have seen this banner. Why could none of them ask those who hung the banner to remove it without waiting for Raj Bhavan's complaint? Wasn't their movement, which had a lot of tradition, disrespect itself by writing down words that were completely uncivilized and heard only in the streets? It is quite natural that student organizations are involved in the spat between the governor and the government. However, don't forget that the governor is the head of the state. The actions of the governor can be criticized, but it shouldn't result in personal insults. If you create banners and posters with uncivilized words, there may be people out there to see and listen to them, but no wise person would be willing to appreciate its creators.

A bill to remove the governor from the post of university chancellor is to be introduced and passed in the assembly session commencing on December 5. There is also a plan to drop the governor's policy announcement speech in the first assembly session of the new year. Things are going in such a way that no further consensus is possible. Two universities have no vice chancellors. Though the technical university has got an interim VC, is unable to sign anything. The higher education sector will bear the brunt of this as the tussle between the governor and the government has turned into the biggest political fight the state has ever seen. Everyone has the responsibility to ensure that the future of children is not affected by the power spat.
