Europe must seek forgiveness before teaching moral lessons to others; says FIFA President while defending Qatar against criticisms

DOHA: FIFA President Gianni Infantino defended host country Qatar from criticisms just hours before the World Cup is to begin. He dubbed the criticisms against Qatar by western countries as hypocrisy

Gianni Infantino said that European media is being one sided while reporting. He said that Europeans must seek forgiveness for the sins of 3000 years before giving moral lessons to others. He said that Europe must beg for forgiveness for the next 3000 years for the wrong they did for the last 3000 years.

One sided criticism is hypocrisy continued Infantino. He said its surprising that no one is speaking about the developments happening in Qatar since 2016. He also observed that Qatar World Cup will be the best of all the World Cups.

He also pointed out that he has no need to defend Qatar and that they have the capacity to defend themselves. He said he is defending football.

Gianni Infantino’s reaction comes after many European media began reporting about the human rights violations in Qatar and the administration’s oppression of the LGBTQ community.
