Thalassery twin murder: Questioning drug sale and doubts about police raid is the reason for killing, crucial information in remand report

kk

KANNUR: The remand report states that the reason for Thalassery twin murder was revenge for questioning the drug sale and suspicion related to the police inspection. The police had earlier checked the vehicle of Jackson, the second accused in the case, on suspicion of carrying ganja. The remand report also states that the attack was carried out suspecting that the police inspection was conducted on the basis of the tip-off by the slain Shamir's son Shabil. The report also says that they are investigating whether there are other reasons behind the murder.

The Thalassery Sessions Court has remanded all the seven accused in the murder for 14 days. The police obtained crucial evidence during the evidence collection conducted with the accused yesterday. The key evidence is the knife used to stab Shameer and Khalid. The knife was found near a house which is close to the third accused Sandeep’s shop. The knife was hidden in a bush near the house, wrapped in paper. The autorickshaw was parked at a deserted place a little distant from the house. The police caught Parayi Babu while he was trying to flee to Karnataka leaving behind the weapon and autorickshaw. The police concluded that the murder in Thalassery was a planned one.
