THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A letter sent by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking favourable intervention in the Kodakara hawala case has come out. The letter was sent on June 10, 2021. Notably, BJP state president K Surendran was named an accused in the Kodakara hawala case.

The BJP leaders had submitted a petition to the Governor pointing out that the Kodakara hawala case and the Manjeshwaram election case were politically motivated and democracy was being destroyed in the state. The Governor then sent a letter to the Chief Minister seeking favourable action in this regard. The letter sent to the Chief Minister also pointed out that BJP leaders have made some allegations against the police in the petition.
