NEW DELHI: The sale of petrol and diesel in the country have registered a growth according to a new report. In the month of November the sale of petrol rose by 11.7% compared to last year and reached 2.66 million tons. Last year the petrol sale was 2.38 million tons in November.

Compared to October, the consumption during month of November rose by 1.3%.

During monsoon the heavy rains, price rise, and low demand for fuel resulted in the lowering of sale of petrol and diesel in the months of July and August.

However, with the festival season beginning in October the sale picked up and in November, there was a marked increase in sale of petrol and diesel.

The sale of diesel in November rose by 27.6% to reach 7.32 million tons. If compared to 2020 November data the rise is 17.4%. The industrial experts say that the sale in diesel picked up due to the demand rise in agriculture season.
