VCs should appear for hearing on 12th, Governor sends notice to nine people

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has directed 9 Vs, who were issued show-cause notices, to attend the hearing. The VCs have been directed to reach Raj Bhavan at 11 am on December 12. They can appear in person or through lawyers. The Governor's new move comes as the High Court is scheduled to consider the plea filed by the VCs against the show cause notice.

The Governor had made it clear that the VCs are not eligible to continue as their appointments were not in accordance with the rules. The deadline for submitting an explanation to the notice had ended on November 7. All 9 VCs had given an explanation to the Governor. They explained that they have the qualifications as per the UGC guidelines.
