Gun goes off accidentally in guard room of Cliff House, probe ordered

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A gun went off accidentally in the guard room of Cliff House, the official residence of the chief minister. The incident happened Tuesday morning at 9 am. The gun of the cop in the guard room accidentally went off. The explanation is that it went off while cleaning the gun.

Top officials said the bullet was stuck in the magazine of the gun and went off when the cop was cleaning it. The commissioner has ordered an investigation in the incident. Such an incident in a high security area like the chief minister's official residence is considered to be a major security lapse.
