IDUKKI: The water level of Mullaperiyar dam rose to 141.05 feet. Heavy rains are lashing Thekkady region, which is the catchment area of the dam. This is the reason for the increase in the flow of water in the dam.

As the water level crossed 141 feet, Tamil Nadu has issued a second warning to Kerala. Tamil Nadu has warned that if the heavy rains continue and the water level rises, the spillway shutters will be opened to release the water out.

The water level of the dam crossed 141 feet this morning. 511 cusecs of water flowed into the dam the other day. By night it rose to 4261 cusecs. The maximum storage capacity of Mullaperiyar dam is 142 feet.
