THRISSUR: A goonda leader on Monday issued threats to the Thrissur East police station and Thrissur Commissioner's office after the police thwarted his gang's plans to organise a party in Thekkinkad Maithanam on the model of 'Aavesham' movie. It was goonda leader 'Theekattu' Sajan who called the Thrissur West police station over the phone on Monday morning and threatened that he would plant bombs at the East police station and the nearby Commissioner's office.

It is believed that Sajan called the Thrissur West police station's number, thinking it was the East police station's. The police have launched a probe into the incident after registering a case under the non-bailable section. Although police conducted a search to find Sajan immediately after receiving the threat call, they were not able to catch him.

Sajan's gang had made arrangements to organise an 'Aavesham'model birthday party celebration on Sunday evening. However, the intelligence wing of the police received information about this plan. Following this, the police reached the spot in four jeeps and surrounded the gang members who gathered for the birthday party. Although the gang members tried to flee the spot, they were all nabbed by the police team. 32 people, including 17 minors, were nabbed by the police from Thekkinkadu Maithanam.
