Vizhinjam will be an employment hub

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited (VISL) estimates that around 1 lakh people will get indirect employment when the Vizhinjam port gets commissioned and phase three is completed. Job opportunities will increase as a large number of private enterprises depending on the port will come up in Thiruvananthapuram and the southern part of the Kanyakumari district within 10 years.

Adani Seaport Limited will open higher education and skill development centres for students using its Corporate Responsibility Fund (CSR). Maritime Board Chairman N S Pillai told Kerala Kaumudi that there will be a lot of opportunities for those who complete ITI, Diploma and Engineering courses. Opportunities will be available in foreign and Indian shipping companies.
