KOCHI: The NIA has found out that the financial source of the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI) is mainly from the Gulf countries. Here money is earned in various ways. This money will be sent to various banks in India through members having NRI accounts. This money will later reach the hands of the leaders. Apart from this, various organizations have been formed in the Gulf countries and money is collected in the form of membership fees. The investigation team also found that PFI was active in Kuwait under the name of Kuwait India Social Forum. Two such forums are also functioning in Oman. The method is to collect money from members as an annual fee.

Investigating agencies also discovered that the money collected in the name of helping the natives had also reached the leaders. They have found that cars were sold to terrorists in Syria and that money was also then sent to India.

At the same time, the NIA has recently revealed that the PFI had a secret wing that collects the information of other community leaders in the state and prepared a hit list. The investigation team informed the special NIA court in Ernakulam that PFI provides training for many illegal activities in their offices and other places and demanded further investigation into their activities.

The shocking information is in the report given to extend the remand of 14 people including Karamana Ashraf Maulavi who was arrested in Kerala in the nationwide raid conducted by NIA. The accused are capable of controlling the community with a single phone call. Under this influence, the accused have mobilized this community to defend the policies and legal actions of the government. The report also states that the state-wide violence that broke out during the hartal on September 23 is a proof of this.
