BEIJING: The World Health Organization (WHO) has urged China to share full information on the alarming Covid situation in the country. Reports indicate that after the lockdown and quarantine rules were lifted in China, there has been a massive spike in Covid-19 positive cases. It is in this situation the WHO has asked China to share more details.
The WHO asked China to provide more data on hospitalisation, Covid deaths and vaccinations. They have also informed China that they are ready to provide necessary support for the prevention of Covid. China has been invited to a meeting of the WHO’s Technical Advisory Group on Tuesday to discuss the evolution of Covid-19.
There was a huge protest in China against the imposition of a strict lockdown even if only a few Covid cases were reported. Then the authorities removed many restrictions. After this, there was a huge increase in the spread of Covid. As per the official notification of the government, 5000 cases are being reported at present, but it is alleged that close to a million cases are being reported every day.
