School Arts Festival will begin today at Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: For five days the city of Kozhikode will be venue for the Kerala State School Art Fest. The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the art fest today morning at 10 am. 15,000 students will compete this year on 24 stages.

Actress Asha Sharath is the Chief Guest for the function. The Golden Cup reached Kozhikode yesterday.

The registration of the children has begun. From previous experience, the venues of the art fest in Kozhikode will be filled with audience. Huge crowds will throng for Thiruvathira, group dance, drama, Oppana, etc.

The security has been tightened at the art fest that is being conducted after a gap of two years due to Covid. Medical department’s service will be available at every venue. A special police force is deployed. Twenty-one committees were formed for the organization.

The food is cooked by Pazhayidam Mohanan Namboothiri and can be savored by the contestants and the parents. The canteen can serve two thousand persons at a time.

Twenty thousand people are expected at the venues each day. Thirty vehicles have been arranged for the smooth transportation of the contestants. Twenty centers are arranged for lodging.
