Kairali Award for Salim Yusuf, M Leelavathy and MA Oommen

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kairali awards for the year 2021 were announced on Tuesday. Professor Salim Yusuf of the Department of Medicine, McMaster University, Canada has been named winner of this year's Kairali Global Lifetime Achievement Award. The award consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs. Kairali Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Dr M Leelavathy (Arts and Humanities), Dr A Ajayaghosh (Science) and Prof MA Oommen (Social Science). The award consists of Rs 250,000 and a citation. The Kairali awards were instituted by the Kerala government to honour talented Malayalis in the field of research.

The Kairali Research Award for post-doctoral research will be given to Dr CV Sijila Rosili (CUSAT), Dr PV Mayuri (Sree Chitra Institute), Dr MS Swapna (University of Kerala) and Dr K Manju (University of Calicut). The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a citation, a research grant of 4 lakhs for 2 years and a travel grant of 75,000 rupees.
