THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala Tariq Anwar has warned MPs Shashi Tharoor and K Muralidharan to stop public responses and activities that put the party on the defensive in public at a time when the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections should be activated.
Even though Tariq Anwar directly raised the issue in the last KPCC office bearer and executive committee meetings, the high command is dissatisfied with the undesirable tendencies on the side of leaders, including Tharoor. Tariq Anwar gave a detailed report to AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge explaining the issues in Kerala. It is learnt that the report expresses resentment over the controversies created by Tharoor's moves in the party. With the high command expressing its disaffection, everyone is curious to find out if Shashi Tharoor will be included in the Congress working committee at the AICC plenary meeting at the end of next month. Tariq Anwar, who is also the general secretary of the party's central disciplinary committee, called the senior leaders of Kerala and issued a warning on the instructions of the AICC president. Muralidharan was directed to stop making public responses and become active in the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.
