Accused gang-raped victims, ate human flesh; second chargesheet filed in Elanthoor human sacrifice case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have filed the second chargesheet in the Elanthoor human sacrifice case. The charge sheet was submitted on the 89th day after the arrest of the accused in the murder of Kalady native Rosly. In addition to murder, the accused have been charged with human trafficking, disrespecting a dead body, theft and destruction of evidence. The 3,000-page charge sheet also stated that the accused had cooked and consumed human flesh.

It has been mentioned in the chargesheet that the Elanthoor case was the rarest of the rarest cases. The probe team had also submitted more than 200 witnesses' statements, 44 material objects, 130 pieces of documentary evidence and nearly 50 mainours. The first chargesheet in the murder of Tamil Nadu native Padma was submitted to the Ernakulam Magistrate Court on January 6.
