Second part of controversial BBC documentary on PM Modi will be aired today, DYFI to screen it in Kerala

bbc-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BBC will air the second part of the documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Social media is under strict surveillance by the central government following a ban on the said documentary. As per reports, the second part deals with Modi's alleged anti-Muslim stance, including in the 2019 elections.

However, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said he isn't aware of the documentary. "I'm not familiar with the documentary you're referring to, however, I am very familiar with the shared values that enact the United States and India as two thriving and vibrant democracies", he said.

The JNU Students' Union had decided to screen the first part of the documentary today, but the university forbade it. The university has warned that the screening will be a threat to the peaceful atmosphere and strict action will be taken if it is done.

Meanwhile, DYFI has clarified that the BBC documentary will be screened in Kerala. DYFI state president V Vaseef said this through a Facebook post.
