Major reshuffling of bureaucratic top brass in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Principal secretary M Sivasankar, the accused in the gold smuggling case, will retire from service on January 31. Pranab Jyotinath has been appointed as secretary in the sports and youth welfare departments that Sivasankar was handling. He will also have complete additional responsibilities of animal husbandry, dairy development, museum and zoo departments. The government has issued an order making massive reshuffling of the bureaucratic top brass.

K Biju Public Works Secretary

Ports Department Secretary K Biju has been made Public Works secretary. He will also have the additional responsibility of the Ports Department. Public Works Secretary Ajit Kumar has been made the Secretary of the Labour and Skills Department. Apart from the additional responsibility of the Military Welfare Department, he will also continue to have the additional responsibility as a special officer of the second phase of the capital city development project. Rural Development Commissioner MG Rajamanikyam has been given the full additional responsibility of special secretary, Revenue (Devaswom) Department in addition to his current additional charge. Sriram Sambasiva Rao, director of the Survey and Land Records Department, has been removed from the additional responsibility of joint secretary, Public Works Department.

Dr. S Chitra is Palakkad Collector

Palakkad District Collector Joshi Mrunmayi Shashank has been appointed as state mission Director of the National Health Mission. She also has the full additional responsibility of managing director of Kerala Medical Services Corporation. Health and Family Welfare Department joint secretary Dr S Chitra is the new Palakkad Collector.

National Health Mission state mission director K Gopalakrishnan has been transferred as managing director of Vizhinjam International Seaport. He will have the additional responsibility of chairman of the Vizhinjam Port Project Rehabilitation Monitoring Committee.
