Law student held for molesting tenth class girl

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A law student has been taken into custody for molesting a tenth-class girl after reaching her house seeking money to offer God. Shyam G Raj of Anchalummood in Kollam was taken into custody last night.

He was nabbed with the help of Anchalummood police based on the information given by those who identified the pictures of the accused released by the police with the help of CCTV visuals. He told police that he is a law student of Government Law College at Ayyanthole in Thrissur. He also said that he is into civil service training.

He reached her house near Holy Angels School seeking an amount of Rs 1001 to offer to god in Palani to pass the civil service exam. She was alone at home as her parents had gone for work. He knocked on the door seeking money to offer God. He had bhasma in his hand. Suspicious of his behavior, she asked him to get out of the house when he came closer to her to apply bhasma on her forehead. He immediately grabbed both her hands and tried to attack her. Although she was scared at first, without losing courage she pushed him away and fled to safety.
