23-year-old youth of Thrissur stabbed to death in Poland; second murder in three days

THRISSUR: A Malayalee youth was stabbed to death in Poland. He has been identified as Sooraj (23) of Ollur in Thrissur. He is the son of Muraleedharan and Sandhya of Ollur Chembuth Arakkal House. He was stabbed amidst a dispute with Georgian citizens. Four Keralites also sustained injuries.

Sooraj was working as a supervisor in a private company in Poland. He went to Poland five months ago. He is the second Malayalee killed in Poland in three days. Some had warned the Georgian citizens for smoking a cigar near the kitchen. A dispute over this led to the attack.

Ibrahim Sherif of Puthusseri in Palakkad was killed the other day. He was an employee of ING Bank.

Sherif had spoken to his family till January 24 afternoon. His family informed his friends after he was not available on phone. When his friends and bank manager reached his place, only the owner of Sherif’s rented house was there. In a search conducted by the police after informed by the Malayalee Association, his body was found in the house. Poland police said Emil, the house owner committed the crime. The police have arrested him.

His relatives are trying to send the body home. V K Sreekandan MP has written a letter to the Indian Embassy in Poland. Sherif’s family have sent a letter to the chief minister also for help.
