Did Palaash cheat on Smriti? WhatsApp chat with another woman surfaces amid fishy rumours

MUMBAI: Until two days back, the social media of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana was filled with reels of a wedding fete. From the proposal video at the centre of D Y Patil stadium to shaking legs to Punjabi pop numbers with fellow Indian cricketers, Smriti was having her time of life, sharing all these videos ahead of her planned wedding with musician Palaash Muchhal.

However, things took a drastic turn on Sunday. The wedding was indefinitely postponed, which official sources cited to be due to Smriti’s father’s ailing health. However, a hint that there was more than what meets the eye surfaced when it was noticed that Smriti deleted all videos and photos associated with her wedding with Palaash Mucchal from her Instagram page. Among the videos removed was that of her fiancé, Palaash Muchhal, proposing to her at the DY Patil Stadium, where the Indian women's cricket team recently lifted the World Cup.

The wedding celebrations were taking place in Smriti's hometown of Sangli, Maharashtra. The wedding was supposed to take place on Sunday.

More than one rumour has surfaced about the dent in their relationship. The first mention of the rumour appeared on the social media platform Reddit, where vague details emerged about Palaash cheating on Smriti during their dating period.

Screenshots of private conversations that Palaash allegedly had with another woman have now surfaced. The chat involves Palaash inviting a young woman named Mary D'Costa to swim together in the hotel pool. The WhatsApp chat that emerged even shows Mary enquiring with Palaash about his relationship with Smriti. Palaash then goes on to explain to her about the languor of long-distance relationships and invites Mary to the spa and the beach.

The veracity of the chat remains in question as more stories are reaching the internet about the strange way in which the marriage was postponed.
