THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram will also host the ICC Women's ODI World Cup matches scheduled to be held from September 30 to October 26. The semi-finals will be held in Thiruvananthapuram. The England-South Africa match on October 3 and the India-Bangladesh match on October 26 will be held at the Karyavattom Greenfield Stadium.

Two warm-up matches will also be held on September 25 and 27. Following the accident at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the IPL celebrations, the matches were shifted to Thiruvananthapuram due to security reasons. There will be an official announcement this evening.

The trophy tour function of the Women's ODI World Cup began in Mumbai yesterday. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and ICC Chairman Jay Shah attended the ceremony. Eight teams will play 31 matches in various cities including Visakhapatnam, Indore, Guwahati and Mullanpur (Punjab).

The best finish in the history of the Women's ODI World Cup was when India reached the finals in 2017. The team will aim to achieve great achievements this year under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur.
