MOHALI: Yograj Singh, the father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has made a new revelation about young Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma. The statement came shortly after Abhishek was included in the BCCI’s annual contract list. Yograj Singh revealed that Abhishek once had habits such as partying late at night and frequently hanging out with female friends. According to him, it was his son Yuvraj Singh who recognised Abhishek’s hidden cricketing talent and helped him abandon those behaviours.
Yograj stated that even Abhishek’s own father couldn’t control his lifestyle. “I know that Yuvi played a big role in changing Abhishek’s behaviour. I’ve heard him say things like, ‘It’s 9 o’clock, go to bed,’” Yograj said.
He also recalled an instance when Yuvraj inquired about Abhishek’s performance from coaches at the Punjab Cricket Association. “When we asked about a list of Abhishek Sharma's performances from the PCA and the coaches. Do you know what they said? Sir, he is a bowler. He bowls. Yuvi said, 'You just look at his performance records.' So, when we saw the record, Abhishek already had 24 hundreds. Yuvi said, 'Why are you giving wrong information? Why? This man has made 24 centuries'. This was six or seven years ago," Yograj added.
