Death of Malayali woman in Dubai; Male friend arrested while trying to flee home

DUBAI: A youth has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman of Bonacaud in Vithura. The dead is Animol Gilda (26), an employee of a private firm in Dubai. It is hinted that the arrested youth, an employee of a hospital in Abu Dhabi, is a native of Thiruvananthapuram. He was arrested from Dubai airport while trying to flee home.

The incident happened on May 4th in Karama. Animol is daughter of Jayakumar and Gilda. Animol and the youth fell in love via social media. Friends said that he was the one who brought Animol to UAE.

Animol, who arrived in the UAE a year and a half ago, was working in credit sales firm. The accused had come to Dubai from Abu Dhabi to meet Animol the day before the murder. The woman's body was later found at her residence. Friends said differences of opinion and dispute between the two may have led to the murder.

Although the police confirmed her death as a murder, the details have not been officially released. It is reported that a detailed investigation into the murder is ongoing. Social activists said Animol's body will be taken home by tonight after completing other procedures.
