LAHORE: Reports said Amir Hamza, co-founder of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has been hospitalized. He is one of the 17 founding members of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
It was earlier circulated on social media that Amir Hamza was shot at. However, new reports hint it to be false. According to the new report, he was critically injured at his house. He has been admitted at a military hospital in Lahore.
Amir Hamza is referred to as Afghan Mujahideen. He is known for his fiery speeches and some writings. He is the editor of Lashkar magazines. He has written several books, including Qafila Da’wat aur Shahadat (Caravan of Proselytising and Matrydom).
In 2018, Pakistani authorities took financial action against Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation, which are affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Following this, Amir Hamza distanced himself from Lashkar. He then founded a splinter group called Jaish-e-Manqafa to continue terrorist activities in places including Jammu and Kashmir. There are reports that, despite being isolated on the outside, these groups operate independently in Pakistan and that Amir Hamza maintains close ties with the Lashkar-e-Taiba leadership.
