OTTAWA: Two including a Malayali student were killed after two planes collided mid-air during a training exercise in Canada. The Malayali student has been identified as Sreehari Sukesh of Tripunithura, and his classmate as Savanna May Royes. The two were students of Harv’s Air Pilot Training School in Canada.

Sreehari, who had obtained a private pilot license, was training for commercial license. The accident occurred at Manitoba in Canada. ‘The students were flying a single-engine plane. The bodies of the two student pilots were recovered in the wreckage of their single-engine planes after both crashed mid-air on Tuesday morning. There were no passengers on the plane,' said the police.

The two died on the spot itself. Although the accident occurred on Tuesday, the names of the dead were released only now. It is hinted that a communication breakdown was the cause of the accident. Sreehari’s family demanded that the body be brought home as soon as possible and that the government intervene in the matter.
