JAKARTA: The body of a 63-year-old farmer in Indonesia was found inside a 26-foot-long python. The incident occurred in the South Buton district of Southeast Sulawesi province. The farmer had gone missing since Friday morning after going to his plantation.
The villagers then inspected the area and found an enormous python struggling in the plantation. The villagers noticed that the giant python had an unusually swollen belly. The python was killed and the farmer's body was recovered at around 2.30 pm in Majapahit Village.
The attack is believed to have been done by a reticulated python. The reticulated python is the world's longest snake. It can grow to be 20-28 feet long and weigh up to 145 kilograms.
This is not the first time a python has swallowed a human in Indonesia. Similar incidents occurred three times in South Sulawesi last year. Similar incidents have also been reported in places such as Jambi, Muna Island and West Sulawesi in Indonesia.
