‘Gift for wife’; doctor performs own vasectomy, video out

TAIPEI CITY: A doctor shared on social media the visuals of performing a vasectomy on himself. Dr Chen Wei-nong of Taiwan and a surgeon performed the surgery and posted the video with the caption a ‘gift for his wife’. The doctor said that he performed the surgery as a gift to fulfill his wife’s desire to avoid future pregnancies.

In the video, the doctor says about the preparations he took for the surgery. The doctor explains about the 11 steps to perform the surgery. The doctor showcased his confidence in his medical skills. The operation which usually takes 15 minutes, extended to an hour due to the challenges of self-surgery.

Chen Wei Nong said that it was really painful when you touch the vas deferens (the tube that carries sperm from the testicles to the outside), and it feels strange to sew yourself up. Despite the discomfort, the surgery was completed successfully.

The video has already been viewed by two million people. It has received 61,000 likes. Various types of reactions are also coming out. Some are questioning the authenticity of the video. Meanwhile, others are praising the doctor's bravery and adventure. It is reported that Chen Wei Nong's health condition is satisfactory.
