KOCHI: A fake Facebook account has been created using the name and photo of legendary playback singer KS Chithra. The impostor has been sending messages to numerous individuals, asking them for money under the guise of investment opportunities.
Initially, recipients of the messages were surprised. Some, suspecting foul play, inquired if the person messaging was truly Chithra Chechi. The fraudster, posing as the beloved singer, confirmed their identity and continued chatting about unrelated topics to build trust.
The message being circulated claims, "I am KS Chithra, Indian playback singer and ambassador for Reliance Industries Limited Investment Company." It goes on to promise that an investment of ₹10,000 in Reliance would yield ₹50,000 within a week, encouraging interested parties to ask for more details on how to begin the so-called investment.
Sources close to KS Chithra have officially clarified that these messages are fraudulent. The singer herself has appealed to her fans and the public to remain cautious, stating that she has no connection to any such investment schemes. She urged everyone to ignore the messages and refrain from falling victim to this scam.
